THE CHALLENGE
+44 is all about celebrating the best in all things Black music. But with so much to be concerned about in the present, we were posed with a goal to commemorating past artists that paved the way for today's flourishing scene and future talents.
Inspired by National Album Day, we worked with +44 and Amazon Music UK to create The +44 Album Season. As a homage to the Black music artists of the past, we re-created 5 iconic album covers from across the timeline of Black music both in the US & UK.
our STRATEGY + WORK
For this project, we were involved from the initial pitching and ideation, down execution and clicking 'post'.
We shot five album covers with five acts, and we carefully chose these artists to represent the culture as accurately as possible.
We managed the pre-production process in-house, and carefully looked after coordinating the shoot on set. We managed talent, arranged the individual sets, and captured behind the scenes content/interviews which would become a 5 part series breaking down each cover shoot.
Our other duties included the after-the-shoot responsibilities, including; editing the captured content, arranging the rollout, copywriting for social media, filming behind the scenes content, community management and paid strategy.
