THE CHALLENGE
Now in it’s 5th year, the BBC Arabic Film Festival screens fiction and non-fiction films and documentaries by international, emerging and established directors and journalists focusing on current political and social issues in the Arab world.
Forward Slash was appointed to deliver a social media marketing campaign to raise awareness of the festival, highlight the breadth of the programming and reach a previously unengaged London-based 16-25 year old demographic.
our strategy + work
Forward Slash’s strategy was to highlight the extent to which the festival catered to all those with a wider interest in film, society and culture, and was not exclusively for those with heritage or cultural ties to countries in the Arab world.
We focused on the universal themes in many of the films and docs and created an emotionally-driven campaign around the shared experiences that unite us and the differences that enable us to learn from each other.
We delivered the social media marketing campaign end-to-end including content strategy, copywriting, social media planning, organic and paid media, social media creative, content production, community management, influencer engagement, mailout campaign, content syndication and live event coverage.
